●ACTOP Labyrinth is built on a 4 × 4 grid board, larger than the 3 x 3 grid board of the original ACTOP.
The larger board size will produce a more complex tower, much like a labyrinth, thus the name. The board pattern is symmetric with 7 white and 9 dark squares. The uneven number of squares of each color creates two levels of difficulty. Towers built using the light squares as a template tend to be more difficult while towers built on the dark squares template tend to be easier. In either case the rules for ACTOP Labyrinth are essentially the same as basic ACTOP.
●Another method of ACTOP Labyrinth board is available by adding foundation tiles to the board prior to beginning the game you can create unlimited variations in the game.
It works like this, before the game starts, you use simple foundation tiles to determine which areas can and which areas cannot be used to build the Labyrinth tower. Foundation tiles are placed by the players alternating until the agreed upon number of tiles have been used at which point regular play begins.
